Greetings!
Yes, yet another "my colors are different" post!
I'm running OS10.4.11 on a MacBook. Color management is consistent across all the applications that are color-aware: Photoshop, Preview, Safari, iView MediaPro, Mail. A jpeg image tagged with a color profile (usually just the standard sRGB IEC61966 profile) looks exactly the same in all these apps.
Now, when I import a tagged jpeg into FreeHand MX (11.0.1), on screen it has the washed-out look of a non-tagged image. No matter what I do in the color preferences (Apple ColorSync is "on"), the displayed colors remain washed out on screen. Even if I apply bizarre settings to the prefs (eg setting the "Monitor" option to "Adobe RGB") nothing whatsoever happens to the colors - it's as though color management were no-existent.
If I export as a jpeg or pdf, the colors remain washed out.
If I export as an Illustrator file, and try to open in Illustrator, I get the message "The RGB file does not have an embedded profile," even though back in FreeHand the jpeg's "Image source" setting was set to the sRGB profile.
As I say, it's as if FreeHand were totally non color managed.
