Two problems with Freehand are really driving me up the wall.
Of course it has to do with fonts
1. Fonts are not named correctly. For example Helvetica, very simple, is under 25-96 helvetica, ITC helvetice, B Helvetica, C Helvetica and the list goes on. Also font files load up under completely different names; Futura loads as I Goudy. even though the individual font files are named correctly. I know there are some third party applications that can address these problems to some extent but it seems that they are more of a make-shift patch up rather than a full soluion.
2. Fonts simply are not listed. I have gone absolutely insane trying to address this problem or even find what is causing it. I have thousands of fonts and many different variations of fonts, but it seems some just refuse to load. It is not a corruption problem. Even brand new fonts sometimes dont work. The most recent problem I have had ie. 5 mins ago, was frutiger refused to load, or only certain aspects of it load. I have 124 different versions of this particular font and none of them load correctly. Some are missing parts. The condensed is missing, or black is missing. Others simply don't appear. Open any other application which uses fonts and they work fine.
If any one else has encountered these or similar problems and has found a way to resolve the issue I would greatly appreciate any assistance you could provide.
