Fonts in Freehand .eps disappearing--can't upgrade to 11.0.2

I created an Open Type "SemiBold" version of Futura in Font Lab Studio and am using it in Freehand 11.0.1. It works fine withing the application and in others such as InDesign and Illustrator but when I create an .eps in Freehand and place it into InDesign the font disappears from the screen and doesn't print. I am using OS 10.4.7 on a G5

Also, I tried to upgrade 11.0.1 to 11.0.2 but get an error message "An error prevented the update from completing. 11002:2,-5000 Access denied error." The info on the application shows that I have permission to read and write to the application. This is an academic version of the software--could there be a conflict there?
