Pencil Tool- changing the path color

I'm digitizing some pencil sketches using a pen tablet and FH's Pencil Tool.

Is there a way to change the color of the Pencil Tool's path as I trace the original sketch?

By that, I do not mean: change the line color, fill, or selection color. I'm referring to the fine line(or dotted line, if you choose that option) that initially appears as you start to draw the line.
