Vector Dimensions

Hi Guys,

If someone could help me with my problem I would be so grateful!

I am using Macromedia Freehand to convert bitmap images into vector images to make t-shirts. I follow the same process every time. However, for some reason, one of my vector images is scalable to a minimum of 80% and every other vector image is only scalable to a minimum of 100% (i.e. I cannot make it any smaller!). I really don't understand why when I created all of the vectors in exactly the same way!

The bitmap images are all only 400 x 400 pixels, yet when they are converted to vectors, they're all coming out at various sizes, but all much, much bigger than 400 x 400 pixels (as large as 1,000 x 1,000 pixels!) However, in Freehand they all appear tiny on the page! It really is making life almost impossible for me!

Is there any way of seeing what size in inches/pixels/centimetres etc. I am exporting a vector image as? I've tried so many different things and cannot understand where the dimensions of the images are coming from!
