Any comments yet on running FH MX under Windows 7?
I understand Windows XP can run in emulation mode in Win7 Professional version and wonder if that will be an option for running Freehand. I am using FH MX on Win XP without any major dramas, but the computer is approaching its "use by" date. Meanwhile my old Mac G4-400 running FH8.0 under OS9 chugs on happily and with rock solid reliability.

Is it possible to still open Freehand files with any Adobe software such as Illustrator?

I'm trying to load the Freehand MX on my MacBook Pro laptop, OS X 10.6.8. I followed Kurt Lang's instructions to download the demo from Adobe's site, then replace the registration file with the hot fix so I can get the demo turned into a "never expiring copy" but can't seem to get the hot fix link, I get an error page. I don't think it's my web security program. Is someone able to send me the hot fix...or the link directly I could try? Thanks for any help on this!
If all you have is CS6 how do you convert old FreeHand files to native .ai?
I used FreeHand for 15 years and I can't simply give a finger to my archive of art just because Adobe makes a dumb-*** call and doesn't bother to create a simple drag and drop FREE app for FreeHand users that'll convert a file.
I don't care about retaining fonts or placed images I just need access to the vector art in my old FreeHand files.
Any suggestions other than "Re-install CS5." which isn't an option.

Any way to solve FreeHand's out of memory error? When I tried and do anything complex, FH screams there's not enough memory and it can't complete the task. Mac OSX 10.6.4. iMac Intel with 4 GB memory. I know that's enough memory. Adding more will not fix the problem.
For all of those who encountered a dreaded error 'read or write access denied' with Freehand printing or exporting to EPS/PDF under Windows 7 or Vista, there may be an easy fix.

I'm a senior graphic designer and I work in a cosmetics company.
I work using many Graphic software like (Adobe photoshop, InDesign, Audition, Illustrator and 3Ds max, 3D Maya ... etc.) on Mac OS and Windows.
My problem that I was work using (Macromedia Free Hand) for many years and this software was an important partner and part and parcel in progress and success in my work.
That was until your great and decent company has done a deal to buy Macromedia company software then stopped after this a wonderful software (Free Hand).
The question that ariseswhy has this software stopped?
This software is very easy and flexible and faster than the other softwares in the same class It only lacks a few things to become the most powerful software in its class.
It is not only my opinion but many other Designers as well who suffer from other softwares who forced to work with it.
We have a history of our formal designs that well be lost sooner if (Free hand) is not back once more. because he no longer works on Mac os 10:10 and (Fh11) format no longer Known from other softwares.
We dreamthat your great and decent company responds for many Graphic Designers and Launch(Adobe Free Hand)software to become the strongest, the newest and the fastest software in the vector world.
We need that software strongly and we have a great hope in your decent company that makes our future better.
I know that my opinion is simple, but i'm sure they'll find an ear to hear and a mind to understand our needs
Before I buy the latest iMac with Yosemite, please could someone confirm that Freehand MX definitely will run if I install Parallels and Server 10.6.8?

I use Makromedia Freehand MXa to make labels.
Sometimes there are 24 labels on the same sheet. I cut out the labels with scissor.
Now I want to have date on each label.
How can I connect these 24 textblocks, so I only have to change current date on one label then the other dates change automatically?
Is it possible?

Hi There,
I'm hoping someone you can help? I am buy a new mac (Sierra operating system).. will I be able to transfer all my old design files created in Freehand MX Macromedia Version 11.00 build 416, from my vintage mac onto the new computer?
If so, how will I do this and how will I open them? I will be purchasing a license for the newest Illustrator, will old freehand files open using this?

Hello,
I have a new El Capitan Mac, installed Parallels 12, then installed Snow Leopard Server, then Freehand MX.... I get a bouncing Freehand Icon for a few seconds then nothing, no activation window. I have tried the adobe Freehand registration link which downloads a blank file? I have tried taking my Macromedia files from my old mac and putting them in the Application Support folder, Help!! What am I doing wrong? Am I missing something?
