I have several projects in Freehand 10
I need to purchase Freehand MX so I can still work in the files
The Computer I am on is a 2009 24Inch IMac
If I can not do that I would need to open the files in In Design and work with them.
Can anyone help with this?
I also need a number to call to discuss our needs.

Yesterday, FreeHand MX crashed every time I tried to open a file - any file - including the original 'Defaults Ltr' template supplied with the FHMX installation. I had not performed any new system updates, nor installed any new software or fonts.
I first tried a number of my usual trouble-shooting strategies such as deleting preferences and repairing disk permissions, but none of that helped.
Then I remembered the advice posted on this forum by edtechweb, to start the Mac in Safe Mode (hold down shift key during machine restart). I did and FreeHand ran. I restarted in regular mode and FH worked normally again.
What a relief!

I'm not sure which of the house cleaning operations performed by a safe boot clears the way, but it sure helps FHMX get back on its feet.

After much too-ing and fro-ing with Adobe tech, cust service and sales, I've been told the only way to get freehand mx on my new imac (snow leopard) is to download the free trial version and after 30 days enter my S/N to make it permanent. I downloaded it when I bought it 4 years ago onto another computer and didn't make a copy.
So, I've installed it. But when I try to open it, nothing happens. Nothing. I've tried opening the program, I've tried opening a FH file, nothing.
Any suggestions? I will be lost without FH!! I just hate illustrator. . . .

I am new to this community but I am very desperate so I hope you can help me. I am using Freehand since version 3. and have updated to MX some years ago. Now since the beginning of 2010 I upgraded from Tiger to Snow Leopard (without the troubles with starting difficulties as discussed here and on other communities). But...
I am cartographer and now have troubles with opening files with fonts. For example, I open a file without trouble and want to zoom in to work, crash.

Sometimes I open a file, crash.
All these things do not happen when I change text to paths. I tried nearly everything, from re-installing all fonts, changing to different fonts within one file, sometimes this works for a little while, but then again, crash.
I also re-installed MX, got me the registration file from Adobe, even installed FH10, with the same result.
Yesterday I even tried to downgrade back to Tiger, but I lost all my preferences etc., so reinstalled Snow Leopard...
Can you perhaps give me a hint about what can go wrong? It happens not with all files, but some of them go crazy...

After I had created an array of duplicates for the original drawing object, I found that once the original object is modified, all its copies are changed automatically afterwards.
Is it possible to break the association between the original object and is transformation copies, so that subsequent editing can be made on each individual copy?

I have an aging MAC and have run FreeHand MX for many years and have 1000's of files created in FHMX. I am looking for a legitimate website to download a copy of FHMX from for a PC running Windows 8.
I have googled this but a couple of the websites claiming Free Download of FHMX were bogus, can anyone help?
I have a sealed Macromedia FreeHand 10 software. But, on the lower left side of the package, it says "Upgrade". What does this mean? Do I have to have the previous version of FreeHand to use this?

I have been given a load of files from a customer (well a customers customer actually) which are in .FH3 format. I need to be able to access them so I downloaded the trial of freehand 8 which adobe have said is compatible. Some of the drawings will open in FH8 but others will not. I have also tried opening them in Flash/Illustrator/Photoshop/every program i can possibly think of to no avail. Does anyone have any potential solutions or workarounds or maybe even a copy of FH3 they could open a file in to see if it is a valid file etc?
