I just purchased a new Mac Mini with 4mb ram in March '09. I was previously using FHMX on my iMac on 10.3.9 with relativley few issues. Mostly crashing because of what I thought was lack of sufficient RAM. I only had 1.5mb on the iMac. Since upgrading to the Mac Mini I have experienced the following issues and don't know if it's Freehand or the new machine.
1. Intermittent loss of keyboard control. All of the sudden, keyboard is no longer respoinsive. To revive it I can pull down a menu item from the toolbar and it begins working again.
2. Two (yes two!!) blue screens of death. All of the sudden, keyboard control and mouse control are lost. Then a blue screen which after a few seconds a spinning beach ball, then the OS returns to the Finder and ALL open applications have quit! This, is to say the least, a terrifying experience. Both times, I have been working in Freehand when this happened.
3. Intermittent crashes, just like on the iMac. Most recently, crashed upon opening a file. Then when relaunched, opening the same file caused no issues.
I am beside myself thinking I can no longer use Freehand and don't know if indeed it is Freehand causing all these problems or it is the new Mac Mini and some kind of hardware issue.
Does anyone have any idea why these things could be occuring or if you have had the same issues is there a way to fix it. I've searched the forums and web for weeks and at this point have found nothing.
Thanks!
