Is sad, but Freehand ends this summer, with Mac Os X 10.7. Lion will drop Rossetta (the emulation code to support legacy Power PC programs). Freehand runs smoothly in Snow Leopard but it hasn't been ported to intel version.

Can someone send me the Freehand MX hot fix?
I'm trying to load the Freehand MX on my MacBook Pro laptop, OS X 10.6.8. I followed Kurt Lang's instructions to download the demo from Adobe's site, then replace the registration file with the hot fix so I can get the demo turned into a "never expiring copy" but can't seem to get the hot fix link, I get an error page. I don't think it's my web security program. Is someone able to send me the hot fix...or the link directly I could try? Thanks for any help on this!

Converting FreeHand Files to native .ai
If all you have is CS6 how do you convert old FreeHand files to native .ai?
I used FreeHand for 15 years and I can't simply give a finger to my archive of art just because Adobe makes a dumb-*** call and doesn't bother to create a simple drag and drop FREE app for FreeHand users that'll convert a file.
I don't care about retaining fonts or placed images I just need access to the vector art in my old FreeHand files.
Any suggestions other than "Re-install CS5." which isn't an option.

serial number required each time Freehand MX launches
I purchased Freehand MX in 2004 and used it for many years. When I installed it on my new PC in June 2014 the original serial number would not activate the program, but I got help from the Adobe chat support and was directed to the webpage with the new generic activation codes. The program worked fine up until last night when it started asking for a serial number each time I launched the program. When it does launch I get the message "License expires never" but it still requires the serial number the next time it opens! Any ideas?

Re-install Freehand MX 11
I had to reformat my harddrive and did not deactivate Freehand MX prior to reformat. When trying to re-load software I get a red x next to the serial number that came with the software. I cannot find anybody to talk to at adobe about this. WHat can I do?

Tab Leader not working as desired
Hi,
I have inserted certain tabs in my text in the text area. I want those tabs to be leaded by some specific characters. What I know I can use Tab Leaders for that. Am I correct? Or is Tab leaders for some other use.
When I am trying to use the TAB leaders, I can not see the tab leader inserted where ever I have tabs inserted. Why is it so?

Read or Write Access Denied while exporting
I have a user that is trying to export a file as EPS and is
getting a read or write error. The same error pops up when trying
to print to a PostScript printer.
"Could not save the document because read or write access has been denied"
When researching this issue I found it to be a known error in previous versions of Freehand.

nesting limit
Having problems opening Freehand MX file. Get a Freehand
generated message that says "Could not complete your request
because it would cause the nesting limit to be exceeded." Earlier
files open fine but would be losing 10-12 hours of work. Any
suggestions?

Not enough memory error when attempting export
Whenever I try exporting an 111Mb freehand file to a
pdf/gif/jpg/bmp/png I get a not enough memory error unless I set
the image quality to be very low. I am using Freehand MX 11.0.2 for
Windows. Does anyone know if there is asetting somewhere to prevent
this from happening?

it. Bizarrely, the same file WILL open on another PC OK. (a puny

Observation About FreeHand and InDesign
I don't know if it's true, but from what I've seen at various
freelance jobs is that Illustrator users like Quark and FreeHand
users like InDesign. I know it sounds crazy, but I know a few
die-hard Illustrator fans that just do not take to InDesign at all!
The FreeHand users seem to be drawn to InDesign, such as myself.
I've used Quark just as long as some of the other people mentioned,
but I was actually very happy to switch to InDesign. They did not
like InDesign. So maybe (even though we all know that it won't
happen) that InDesign should be bundled with FreeHand!

I wonder if anyone have any experience of converting large
quantities of images from Mac to PC? I have several thousands of
freehand eps-images saved for Mac that I need to convert to a
PC-eps. Anyone know any application that can accomplish

Has anyone experienced a Missing Fonts error related to "MS Shell Dlg 2" under Windows?
I'm using Freehand 11.02 under Windows7 x64 - although I've frequently experienced this issue under WIndows XP & Vista as well.
When selecting a symbolic character such as a Checkmark from the WIngdings font set and then attempting tp past it into FH, a lengthy delay occurs (~30-60 seconds) before a "Missing Fonts" dialog appears such as this:
By simple selecting "OK", the desired character & font is pasted as expected - but what causes the delay? Any insight would be most welcome.

I'm trying to open a file that was created on another PC on our network containing Futura fonts, and I get a Missing Fonts message telling me that specified font is not installed on my computer, and it can substitute it with a different one. When I choose to replace this font with a different one, I scroll down the list, and I am able to find Futura font; however when I choose it, it looks different. We had this problem on the other PC at first, and we ware able to resolve it by copying all fonts from Control Panel into Program Files\Common Files\Adobe\Fonts folder. However, this trick did not work on my PC. We both have the same fonts, the same software versions, the same configuration, so there's no reason why it doesn't work the same way on both PCs. I tried copying this font from the other PC, and reinstalling FreeHand, but still wasn't able to get rid of the problem. FreeHand tech support could not help me either. Does anyone have an idea how to fix it? Please help!!!

.fh10 file won't open
I have a .fh10 file I am trying to open, and it won't open in CS6 Illustrator or InDesign. I don't have freehand, and it doesn't seem to be available through Creative Cloud (I am a creative cloud member so I can download most of the programs through that).
Any suggestions on how to open a freehand 10 file?

Installing Freehand 11 on mac os 10.8.2
Dear forum,
I just bought Freehand 11, surprisingly I cannot install it on my Imac intel based.
After searching , Freehand is a dead application which Adobe didn't care at all.
Is there anyway I can use Freehand?
Is there a legal statement that mention Adobe support on Freehand product?
Is it true that Rosetta can't work on mac os 10.8.2?

Color Management of exported PDFs
When I export to PDF all "black" elements are shown gray
within Acrobat. Only if I define a new color which is not only 100%
black but also CYM set to a certain value the final colors appears
solid black. Is there any workaround?
In addition colors are often printed differently when using Freehand directly or an exported PDF. I played around with the color settings but I wasn't able to get similar colors :-(.
