I have a copy of the product and want to activate it again on my new computer (windows 7) and the activating procedure doesn't let me do this via the internet and the phone support can not help me and asked me to get help from the website support center. Now I ask you: how can I acivate my copy of Freehand MX 11?

Print Error - printing to pdf
When I export or print to a pdf from freehand from one of my
files I get the following error message and the print doesn't
complete.. I can print other almost identical files without any
problem and I can print this file to a normal (non postscript
though) printer without any bother. Does anyone have any idea what
the problem might be and how I can solve it? Thank-you!

Tab Leader not working as desired
Hi,
I have inserted certain tabs in my text in the text area. I want those tabs to be leaded by some specific characters. What I know I can use Tab Leaders for that. Am I correct? Or is Tab leaders for some other use.
When I am trying to use the TAB leaders, I can not see the tab leader inserted where ever I have tabs inserted. Why is it so?

Freehand not starting up
I have 2 users on my mac and today Freehand would not start
on one of them, note that the admin user will start up. Adobe
Customer service is a dead end death spiral, can anyone out their
help!

URGENT HELP....
I was using both freehand and photoshop together.
and I was able to copy vectoral graphics from freehand
and paste into photoshop before I formatted my computer.
but now,I cant able to copy/paste vectoral graphics into
photoshop from freehand. When I try it, error message appears.
"could not place because the parser module cannot parse the file"
I need to fix this problem as soon as I can do.
Please help me. What should I do now?

freehand mx on mac to freehand 10 on pc
does anyone know how to open a freehand mx file (created on a
mac) in freehand 10 on a pc?
there's no file extension on the document and i keep getting a message saying the file isn't a valid freehand document!

Read or Write Access Denied while exporting
I have a user that is trying to export a file as EPS and is
getting a read or write error. The same error pops up when trying
to print to a PostScript printer.
"Could not save the document because read or write access has been denied"
When researching this issue I found it to be a known error in previous versions of Freehand.

Remove All Overprints
Maybe I'm missing something very obvious, but I can't seem to
find a way to remove all overprints in a document. Is there a way?
We received a very complex multi-page layout from a customer, and either they didn't understand what overprints are or they simply paid no attention to what they were clicking. There are random elements set to overprint all throughout, and we need to turn them all off. Unforunately the only time the overprint checkbox appears is when you have a single object selected; unlike Illustrator I cannot select all and turn off the overprints for everything.
Is there a workaround for this, or am I being blind (like usual) and missing the obvious?

freehand mac problems
hi I just tried to install freehand mx 11.02 on my mac
powerbook (10.5.2)
the system tells me the program is installed but when I try to open it nothing happens
the logo appears in my dock but I get no menu.

Last usable FH version?
I took a big step from FH 7 to MX recently. So far my
productivity is almost zero with MX. At first I thought it should
be better when I learned all the stupid tweaks. But as an example,
tonight I was making a very simple drawing which took me 1,5 hours
and still isn´t at all what I wanted to achieve. The same
drawing takes me 2 minutes to make in FH 7, and the result is
exactly as I want it.
So my question is, if I want a Freehand version that works with the latest Mac OS Tiger, but with as few novelties as possible from FH 7, which version shall I look for??

Buggy layer changing?
Using FMX 11.0.2 under OS X 10.3.9, my boss has been
experiencing (for quite some time now, apparently) some unusual
behavior when attempting to move an object from one layer to
another.
With an object selected and the Layers palette visible (and the current layer highlighted), she clicks on say the Background layer. What happens is that the Layers palette highlight changes to reflect that the Background layer is now the active layer. However, the object does not gray out to reflect that it's now on the Background layer. Further, if she deselects the object and then selects it again, we see that it is in actuality, NOT on the Background layer, but still in the original layer. It had not moved.
In observing her trouble, I noticed that when she clicks on the Background layer and that layer highlights in the Layers palette, the tiny "pen" icon (at the right side of the layer), does NOT move to the new active layer. If I have her click in the right margin of the Background layer, the pen icon WILL move to the highlighted layer - SOMETIMES. There is no apparent rhyme or reason. I can sit there and click repeatedly, and sooner or later the pen icon will move - and when it does, THAT is when the object actually moves to the new layer.
I couldn't find any explanation of the pen icon in the Layers palette. Does anyone know what it's called and what it's for?
Is this some preference setting that has gone wonky, a feature which we are just not understanding - or is this a bug?
More to the point, does anyone have a fix?

Under the file menu, there is an item called Report. What
specifically does this do? Here is what I want it to do: if I have
a 4 layers with various information, one of the layers has a number
of squares which are different colors; can the report tell me how
many squares of each color I have?

Freehand to pdf colour trouble
Hello, i have a issue with a exporting a freehand document to
pdf i was wondering whether someone might know a solution to.
I have created a freehand file to be used as an advert, In the file i have a jpeg image in the freehand file, plus imported freehand vectors and some freehand created rectangles.
The issue i'm having is, when i export the freehand file to a pdf format and open it in adobe acrobat professional the top rectangle and bottom rectangle i have created in the freehand file changes colour, where as the jpeg retains its original colour but appears to shift slightly to the side that doesn't appear to affect it in the final print though, but the change of colour does.
Could someone explain why then the freehand files colour changes in pdf while the jpeg in the freehand document exported to the same pdf remains the same, and if possible what i can do to change this.

horrible font glitch in Freehand...
Freehand MX has a tendency to corrupt fonts that appear fine
one day and then way off the next day. The fonts go whacky unless
embedded every now and then, I'm finding.
Why is this??
What stops it from doing this?
I've had jobs go to print and print incorrectly thanks to this issue. I've never encountered this issue in Illustrator.

Image with unnecessary background
I export image as a jpeg - on some images, not all, the
images appear with a large white background. I am unable to get rid
of this when I go back to the Freehand file - it appears to be OK
there. Only appears after I export as a .jpeg and then import to my
working document.

Drag-&-dropped bitmaps downscaled, why?
Using Freehand 11.0.2.
When I drag-&-drop a .bmp file from Windows Explorer into Freehand, it
shows up just fine, except Freehand decides to downscale it for some reason.
For example, a 486x450 bitmap is downscaled to 364.5x337.5 (i.e. 75% scale)
when I drag-&-drop the .bmp file into Freehand. There is noticeable image
quality loss due to the downscaling. The downscale factor is always 75%.
Happens with TIFF files as well. Doesn't matter whether I'm linking or
embedding.

Is this a BUG -- If not, please help!
I am using Freehand MX on a PC. My file includes a TIF image
that has a transparent area, a cut out around a person's head.
Looks fine in Freehand, but when I export it as a PDF, the area of
the TIF that is transparent changes the background colour -- the
blue becomes purple.
Has anyone found this, and is there a workaround?

Is Freehand MX11.02 10.6 Snow Leopard compatible?
I am currently working on Mac Pro 2x2.8 GHz Quad-Core Intel Xeon. System Version ist 10.5.7.
Except the well known bugs including fonts, guides and PDF-writing everything works out fine.
Yesterday i installed Leopard Beta Build 10A354 including Rosetta. Freehand Icon starts to bounce but program doesn't start up. When trying to shut down I learned, that Freehand process was running and preventing restart. Had to kill it manually.
I want to mark up, that Freehand behavoir changed since Build 261, where it generated revolving error messages for about one minute. Does anyone know, if that will change untill Snow Leopard release?

freehand MX export to Photoshop CS
Hi
New here but am on my last hope someone can help with my problem.
I've done this countless times before but for some weird reason it's not working now.
I've switched on and off my mac a couple of times now and the problem still persists.
I am exporting an image from Freehand to Photoshop.
I want the layers in the image so I am clicking on "include layers".
When the image exports to PS it's transparent and the black is missing from it.
I've been scratching my head here trying to fathom it out but can't see what is going wrong.
I've tried exporting old files, new ones and none work.
I need to get to the bottom of this quick as I am providing files in PS for a client and right now it's not happening.
I can however see the file perfectly well once exported if I don't include layers...but I need the layers!
Anyone any ideas?
Oh and I am in process of trying to teach myself Illustrator cos my agent is forcing me to basically.
